Project Assistant (part-time) (Ref. 260724-01)
[Appointment period: twelve months, with possibility of extension]
Duties
The appointee will assist the Project Leader in the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) funded project - “Chinese–English Bilingual Pop Song Lyrics Workshop Series and Translation Competition”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist the project team in complying with the project objectives, scope, timetable, and the expected deliverables;
(b) provide support for survey processes, including administering surveys/interviews and maintaining survey databases;
(c) be responsible for the planning and organisation of the related events of the project such as workshops, talks, exhibitions and tours, etc.;
(d) liaise with participating schools, external organisations, guest speakers, and other project stakeholders;
(e) maintain project documentation, records, databases, and correspondence;
(f) assist the coordinating teachers in preparing project proposals, progress reports, financial and administrative documents, and other project-related materials;
(g) assist in organising, compiling, proofreading, and editing the project's teaching resource package and promotional materials, and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree or an equivalent qualification, preferably in Languages, Translation, Education, Communication, Business Administration, or a related discipline;
(b) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese);
(c) strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
(d) good administrative and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
(e) proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, and Outlook), and
(f) relevant experience in supporting education or public projects, such as event coordination, project administration, and liaison with schools or educational organisations.
