COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION


College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was founded in 2002 as a self-financed college of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). CPCE oversees the operation and development of its two educational units, namely Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) and School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED), with the aim of fostering synergy in providing quality education.

Assistant Administrative Officer (Ref. 260612-02)


Duties


Reporting to the College Librarian or the delegate, the appointee will be required to:


(a) provide administrative and executive support to the operations of the library;

(b) liaise with internal staff, departments of PolyU, and external suppliers and vendors;

(c) support procurement of library supplies, equipment, furniture, and services;

(d) support the sourcing and processing of maintenance contracts for equipment and services;

(e) maintain inventory of the library properties;

(f) compile statistics;

(g) participant in committees or working groups as assigned, and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned.


The appointee may be required to work on shift duties in evenings, on weekends and public holidays.


Qualifications


Applicants should have:


(a) a recognised degree;

(b) at least two years of relevant experience;

(c) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

(d) proficiency in computer applications;

(e) strong interpersonal and communication skills;

(f) the ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility, and

(g) maturity, flexibility, self-motivation, and a strong team spirit.


Possession of related library qualifications and working experience in academic libraries will be advantageous.


Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.


Conditions of Service


An attractive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be made on a two-year contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
