College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was founded in 2002 as a self-financed college of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). School of Professional Education and Executive Development

Research Assistant (Ref. 260529-01)

[Appointment period: six months]


Duties


The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in the Research Grants Council (RGC) funded project - “Technostress and Experience Economy: The Effects of Augmented and Virtual Reality in Museums from Different Generational Cohorts”. He/She will be required to:


(a) conduct literature review, data collection and analysis;

(b) coordinate and handle procurement for the project;

(c) assist the project team in complying with the project objectives, scope, timetable, and the expected deliverables;

(d) assist in collecting, gathering, analysing and presenting data from work undertaken;

(e) provide support for survey processes, including administering surveys/interviews and maintaining survey databases

(f) assist in the planning, organisation and coordination of project related events such as workshops, talks and exhibitions, tours, etc.;

(g) prepare regular reports to the Research Project Team, and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Applicants should have:


(a) an honours degree or an equivalent qualification, preferably in Tourism and Hospitality Management or related disciplines;

(b) proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis software, knowledge of using Prolific and Qualtrics is preferred;

(c) good organisational and analytical skills;

(d) strong communication and interpersonal skills;

(e) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

(f) ability to work independently and complete multiple tasks under tight timelines, and

(g) positive work attitude, self-motivation and a sense of responsibility.
